Trip to Nampa

Look at this HUGE (ok, not really big at all) strawberry from our garden.  It tasted so yummy!

Before we headed off to Nampa, ID this past  weekend the kids gave their father's day presents to Paul.

This is how you take a Burnett photo, look at the camera and give the 'deer in the headlights' look or don't look at the camera at all.  Or then you could be Paul and do the ruggedly handsome smile and look at the camera.  Any of those three options are acceptable when taking a Burnett photo.

Here is a close up of the picture frames in the above photo.  The kids made these at school.

This is an interview that Cooper did at school all about his dad.  Pretty cute.  Cooper also did one at home that I helped him with.   It's funny to see how the questions are similar but the answers were very different.

Elana loves to be up high on dad's shoulders

Cousins!
Cooper and Amariah playing tag.

Hot Wheels are awesome!
Grandpa Ed is so silly!

Amariah is 2 and almost as big as Cooper.

Cooper loved to stand on the slide.  I think it made him feel taller.

Playing at Grammy Terry's park is the best!  It's the only park we've been to that has a merry-go-round!
It's Cooper's favorite!

Cooper still fits in the baby swing, almost.

Setting up the tent to sleep in for the night!

How many people does it take to set up a tent?  3 adults and two kids to try and get inside as you are setting it up.
Playing in the tent is a must before you go to sleep!
The boys are ready for bed!
Cooper was so excited to sleep in the tent for the first time!
Grammy Terry has the best toys!
Cousins- Caleb and Elana. Caleb is 5 months old and Elana is 11 months old.  They look almost the same size.  So cute how she grabbed his hand.

Then she tried to eat it.
Cousins watching Ninja Turtles.
Corn dogs are the best!
It was a hot day so Cooper spent most of the day playing in the pool!
Caleb and April
The mister is a multifunction tool.  Here Paul is using it as a tuba.

Mom is playing the guitar.

Cooper likes the tuba the best.

Now it's a jackhammer.  Who knew a mister could be so many things.  I love his imagination!

Daddy and Elana both drinking from a bottle.
Auntin Erin and Cooper.

Dinner time.
Grammy Terry made an awesome cake to celebrate Father's day!

Family photo minus Micky.

Elana likes all of Grammy Terry's toys too.

It's fun to play music at Grammy's house.  She has so many fun instruments.

Grammy Terry's yard sculptures.
On a walk at Lake Lowel.  Too hot!
Elana loved riding in the stroller but it was just too hot and not much shade.

Testing out the water!

Elana was not a fan of the cold water. No surprise there!

Cooper was tired on the hike back.  Grandpa Ed was nice enough to give him a ride.

Playing in the pool and throwing the ball on the roof.

Elana fussing as usual!
So tired after a long hot day of playing at Grammy and Granda's house.

First time in a big girl bath!  Loved every minute of it!

What a fun weekend in Nampa, ID with family!

Up next on the to do list:  Cooper's field trips at school to the splash pad, trout farm, bowling and golf, Grammy Rachel visits, K&P 10th anniversary, Poppy visits, Grammy T and Grandpa Ed visit,  Elana's 1st birthday!

Summer Fun

Summer vacation is becoming more fun as the kids become a little older.  We are able to get out and do more things.  The kids get along so well.  It makes my heart happy to see them playing together, laughing and having fun.  Here are a few of the fun activities we have been doing the past few days.

This has been a long time coming, sleeping without a sleep wrap.  I wanted to wait until I was done with school for the summer before we tried sleeping unwrapped.  So far, Elana wakes up several times in the night and needs to be rocked back to sleep.  Next up on the agenda; putting herself to sleep!

Eating ice cream is something that should be done daily!

Trying new foods is always fun, well, not if your name is Elana!  So far the only solid food (other than pureed veggies and fruits) she will eat is Kix cereal and maybe a few Cheerios.  She had tried many new foods but just seems to spit them all out or reach in her mouth and dig out the 'yucky, disgusting food' that mom gave her.  We finally found something else that she will tolerate, sometimes.  Graham crackers are crunchy, sweet, easy to hold, and are great to smash up in little pieces and throw all over mom's clean floor.

Pretend fixing and then riding bikes is great!

Playing inside the tent is so much fun!

Every princess needs a throne to sit on.  Elana's first time at the Treehouse Museum and she loved every moment of it.  I think we will be spending many hot days inside here.

Mom and Elana playing with the horses and knights.

Knight and horse are great fun to play with.
Making a pirate treasure map was really fun!

Playing with dolls is super fun!

So, this is the guy who hides behind the camera and takes the beautiful treasured photos!  Thanks Paul!

Playing in the sprinklers is fun but...

Having a hose to squirt is much more fun! Especially if you have a friend to chase!

Elana is NOT liking the new pool.  Perhaps it could be the freezing water!

Cooper, on the other hand LOVES the pool!

Elana and mom are happy to watch from the shade.

Playing superheroes at the park a blast!  Cooper is usually one of 3 superheroes; Captain America, Batman, or his own invention and my personal favorite, Super Whooper!

Elana LOVES swinging in the swing!

Next up on the to do list; a visit to Nampa (wish us luck and pray for no screaming!), tent camping in the backyard (maybe), 10th wedding anniversary (happy anniversary Paul!!), Grammy Rachel and Poppy visit, Elana's 1st birthday,  My 35th birthday (Yikes!), Cooper's pre-K class field trips, splash pad
