Coopermania Continues...

We are just loving life with baby Cooper or "Mini Cooper" as some of you like to call him. We thought we would just limit words and let our friends and family enjoy some photos.

Bubbles...

Cooper snuggling with mommy. Not to worry. Mommy was not asleep, just enjoying his company.

Daddy's first, somewhat successful attempt at putting clothes on Cooper. This required Cooper to be disturbed from his rest for an extended amount of time while daddy tried to make sense of the random buttons that did not seem to line up with anything. The end result...a mad baby! Not to worry. He got over it in about 15 seconds and went back to sleep.

A happy family finally home!

A lot of this going on!

Preparing Cooper for his first bath.

Preparing mommy for Cooper's first bath. See the towel on Cooper? This is to protect mommy and daddy from the stream of pee that tends to fly about randomly during diaper changes.

A successful bath!

A clean baby.

Surprise Virtual Baby Shower!

This week has been full of surprises for me. Thursday when Paul and I went to see the doctor for a routine baby checkup she said it was time to deliver the baby. So to our surprise we will be heading over to the hospital Sunday morning at 7 to start the labor process. Since I am having the baby on a scheduled day, my mom was able to catch a flight out yesterday! It has been wonderful having her here.

My second surprise this week was today. A surprise virtual baby shower with friends and family from across the country. I absolutely love the internet! My mom and Paul have been secretly planning this for about a month. I knew something was going on when my mom called and wanted to talk to Paul more often than me. So today about 11:00 am mountain time Paul called everyone on skype and they all yelled surprise as I walked into our office. It was so much fun to visit with family and friends all at the same time while we were each doing something different. I received many wonderful gifts for my very-soon-to-be-born baby boy. I felt very loved and spoiled all at the same time. Thank you so much to all who attend the first ever Burnett virtual baby shower as well as those who couldn't be there. A special thank you to my mom and Paul for pulling off a wonderful surprise.

Can you believe it was actually snowing today?!

Here is a "group" photo of everyone who attended the virtual baby shower. Mom,me and everyone on the computer.

Here are a few pictures of some of the fun gifts I received for the baby. Thanks everyone.

Thanks again to mom and Paul for making this a special day for me.

Joyful Misery

This is not groundbreaking news to anybody who has children, but since this is our first baby, I feel compelled to share my perspective on the pregnancy process. The third trimester has been filled with some adventure and humor. The preterm contractions at 30 weeks were a little scary, but we got through it with no problems. Kelly threw herself off balance with her stomach and almost fell over last week, generating quite a laugh between us. Speaking of laughing. Every time Kelly laughs, coughs or sneezes, she holds her belly. I haven't figured out whether she is trying to keep herself from going into labor, or trying to keep her belly from throwing her off balance.

Kelly is at 37 weeks and now sleeps a lot. And when she's not sleeping, she is usually sitting on the couch with her feet up because it is the least miserable position. My job is to do what I can to make her comfortable. When she eats anything sugary, the baby moves around...A LOT. At this stage the baby is large enough that you can see impressions of legs and other unknown body parts showing through her belly. I found this a little disturbing at first, but now I think it's cute. It's almost over and Kelly is doing...Spooktacular (it is October)!

Paul's Restoration Video

This is a video documenting a project Paul did on the South Fork of the Ogden River. Paul's coworker, Phil Douglass, did an awesome job putting the video together. Paul and Phil did the interview onsite, and also captured the underwater footage of fish.
